About Me

Hi, I’m Martha Garcia, the founder of Guiding Hands IEP. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and currently pursuing my Masters in Psy with a concentration in ABA to become a Board Certified Behavior analyst (BCBA).

I have years of experience working with children and youth diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, and other spectrum disorders, as well as those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and children in the foster care system experiencing challenging, defiant, aggressive and maladaptive behaviors. As a peer support specialist, parent partner and behavioral health support specialist, I’ve had the privilege of guiding parents and families through the challenges of advocating for their child’s education and mental well being.

My passion for advocacy comes from my own journey as a mother. When my children needed support, I fought to ensure they received the services and accommodations they deserved—despite the school’s resistance. That experience made me the advocate I am today, and I’m committed to helping other parents do the same.

You don’t have to navigate this process alone. I’m here to empower you, support you, and ensure your child gets the education and opportunities they deserve. Let’s work together to create a brighter future for your child and your family!
